上海世博中心，作為上海展覽中心（集團(tuán)）有限公司的子公司，同樣具備了舉辦展覽、會議、活動以及房屋租賃的功能，與上展中心在浦江兩岸形成東西呼應(yīng)的兩座上海標(biāo)志性建筑。上海世博中心建成后將成為*的會議中心。世博會期間，其承擔(dān)了慶典、交流、貴賓接待、新聞發(fā)布和指揮運(yùn)營等重要任務(wù)。世博會后，其又將轉(zhuǎn)型成為大型高規(guī)格國際會議的重要場所，一方面承擔(dān)政務(wù)服務(wù)功能，成為上海市“兩會”及其他政務(wù)性會議的重要舉辦場所；另一方面還要承載社會功能，對市場和社會開放，以其會議、展覽、活動（宴會）等專業(yè)功能形成核心競爭力，充分展示上海國際大都會形象，提升上海城市的綜合競爭力。

Shanghai Expo Centre is a subsidiary company to Shanghai Exhibition Center (Group) Company Limited (SEG), likewise, it also possesses the functionalities for exhibition, convention, event and space leasing. They have become two echoing landmarks of Shanghai situated on the eastern and western banks of Huangpu River. The exhibition halls and conference rooms are fully equipped with facilities of all functions, safe and reliable, in a true sense of green building. After the completion of construction, Shanghai Expo Centre will be a world convention center. In the duration of 2010 Shanghai Expo it will assume important missions such as ceremony, cultural exchange, VIP reception, press conference, commanding and operation. In the post-Expo time it will be converted to an essential venue for large-scale high-end international conference. It will perform the governmental affairs functions in terms of a venue for the Party Congress and the People’s Congress as well as for other government meetings, whereas it will as well carry out social functions by opening up to the market and local community.
